Dear Fellow Members of the Brown Board
Owner’s Association,
Since our last communication following our meeting in
Atlanta, we continue to move in the directions stipulated in
our letter.
We are speaking to, and soliciting proposals from, other
Franchisee organizations, to explore the benefits, if any,
of an affiliation with said organizations.
We have contacted Marketing and Public Relations consultants
to explore the possibility of retaining a firm of this type
to aid us in our campaign to convince UPS that establishing
a dialogue with the BBOA is best for both the store owners
and UPS.
Through personal contacts we are attempting to set up an
initial meeting with UPS senior management, hopefully to
convince them of our desire to negotiate rather than to use
more confrontational alternatives.
According to our organization’s By-Laws, a Board of
Directors consisting of twelve members is authorized. Since
we need to fill three vacancies, we are requesting
Nominations for Board Membership, from our members.
If any member has the name of a qualified candidate, please
submit your nomination to the undersigned or any other
member of the Board of Directors, together with a short bio
of said candidate. The nominations submitted will be
evaluated by the Board and the name and bios of all
qualified candidates (in the opinion of the Board) will be
published on the Web site for election by the membership.
The three candidates receiving the most votes will then be
appointed to our Board. Needless to say, the nominated
candidates must be current store owners and have other
previous professional qualifications. It is perfectly
permissible for a person to nominate his or herself for
Board membership.
We hope that you will help us in this endeavor to add
qualified individuals to our Board.
